BARABOO — The Aquinas High School boys basketball team got back on the winning track with a 55-49 nonconference victory at Baraboo on Tuesday.
The Blugolds (4-1), who are sixth in Division 3 media rankings by Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports, entered the game after losing for the first time this season — to Division 2 top-ranked Onalaska — on Saturday.
Senior Logan Becker scored a game-high 23 points for the Aquinas, which has won 20 straight games against nonconference opponents.
Holmen 78, Chippewa Falls 68
HOLMEN — The Vikings (5-3) won their second game in a row and outscored the Cardinals by 14 points in the second half.
Sophomore Cohen Kendhammer scored a team-high 20 points and pulled down five rebounds for Holmen, which shot 61 percent (29 of 47) from the floor and hit 9 of 17 attempts from the 3-point line. Kendhammer was 4 for 4 from the 3-point line, and junior Jayden Bartels was 3 for 6 and finished with 17 points.
Junior Jax Meyer and sophomore Ayden Reister also scored 13 points apiece for the Vikings, who received a team-high six rebounds from senior Colin Williams.
G-E-T 68, Logan 60
GALESVILLE — The Rangers (0-4) faced a 37-20 deficit by halftime before working their way back into things during the second half.
Sophomore Tommy Check scored a team-high 18 points while junior Jameson Degenhardt added nine and senior Richard McMillan eight for Logan, which cut that halftime deficit to one point a couple of times in the second half.
Sophomore Talon Fabian scored a game-high 25 points, and senior Travis Theisen added 22 for the Red Hawks (6-0).
GIRLS
Minnehaha Academy 55, Caledonia 54
MINNEAPOLIS — Senior Aubrie Klug scored a game-high 25 points, but the Warriors (7-2) were clipped by the Redhawks (6-4).
Caledonia had won seven straight games before a close battle with Minnehaha, which held a 28-24 halftime lead.
Senior Nicole Banse added nine points for the Warriors, who host Aquinas (7-1) for a 1:30 p.m. game on Saturday.
