WEST SALEM — The West Salem High School girls basketball team is starting to click after losing its first two games of the season.
The Panthers ran their winning streak to three games on Friday by blasting Westby 70-28 behind a 24-point performance from senior Josie Brudos.
West Salem (3-2 overall, 3-0 Coulee) has won its past three games by an average of 40.3 points.
Brudos made four of her five 3-pointers in the first half, and her 15 points helped the Panthers to a 31-17 halftime lead.
Sophomore Anna Witte scored 11 of her 15 in the first half, and sophomore Ava Hendrickson scored six of her 10 in the second half as West Salem held Westby to 11 second-half points.
Melrose-Mindoro 42, C-FC 41
FOUNTAIN CITY — The Mustangs (3-4, 3-4 Dairyland-Large) tipped the Pirates to put an end to a three-game losing streak.
Senior Anna Radcliffe made a 3-pointer during an 11-point second half and led Melrose-Mindoro with 18 points.
Cooper Zeman added eight points for the Mustangs, who play at G-E-T on Monday.
Caledonia 65, Wabasha-Kellogg 29
WABASHA — The Warriors (7-1, 4-0 Three Rivers) have won seven straight games after pummeling the Falcons.
Viroqua 46, Onalaska Luther 32
VIROQUA — The Blackhawks handed the Knights (3-4, 0-2 Coulee) their third loss in the past four games after a 2-1 start.
Central 52, Sparta 30
SPART — The RiverHawks (5-0, 2-0 MVC), who are sixth in Division 2 for this week’s Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports media poll, remained unbeaten with another one-sided victory.
Central has won its two conference games by a total of 55 points.
