ONALASKA — The Tomah/Sparta co-op boys hockey team used a power-play goal early in the third period to score what became the winning goal in a 5-4 victory over the Holmen/Aquinas co-op at the OmniCenter on Friday.
The Avalanche (2-5, 1-2 Western Wisconsin Hockey Conference) lost their third game in a row after allowing three goals in the first period.
Ayden Dirks, a senior from Holmen, scored twice for the Avalanche, which also includes players from Aquinas, G-E-T and Onalaska Luther.
James Siegert, a sophomore from Aquinas, also scored for the Avalanche. Siegert leads the team with seven goals, and Dirks is second with five.
