Friday boys basketball: Caledonia, Aquinas roll to wins on home court

CALEDONIA — The Caledonia High School boys basketball team topped the century mark during a Three River-East victory over Fillmore Central on Friday.

The Warriors made 14 3-pointers with eight players making at least one on the way to a 108-63 home victory.

Sophomore Grant King scored a team-high 26 points, and Caledonia (3-0 overall, 2-0 Three Rivers-East) had 13 players score. King made a pair of 3-pointers, hit 6 of 8 free throws and scored 19 of his points during a 66-point first half.

Sophomore Colin Stemper made a team-high three 3s and finished with 15 points, while junior Jacoby Hammell and senior Aaron Stemper scored 13 apiece.

The Warriors have averaged 89.7 points per game this season and play at Holmen (2-2) on Saturday night.

Aquinas 73, Sparta 37

LA CROSSE — The Blugolds (2-0, 1-0 MVC) won their conference opener soundly at the Reinhart Athletic Complex.

Junior Calvin Bahr scored 15 of his team-high 25 points for Aquinas i the first inning. Senior Finley Strom added 17 points and senior Talan Reinhart 10 with two 3-pointers for the Blugolds, who led 43-15 by the time the first half ended.
