Monday girls golf report: Onalaska second, Holmen third in MVC meet at Sparta

SPARTA — The Onalaska High School girls golf team continued its run of second-place finishes in MVC meets Monday at River Run Golf Course.

The Hilltoppers, who have placed second to Tomah in all five meets now, completed their latest round with a team score of 188, which was 19 shots behind the Timberwolves (169) and comfortably ahead of third-place Holmen (209).

Aquinas was fourth at 222 and Central/Logan sixth at 233.

Tomah had the top four individuals on the way to its winning score, and sophomore Kaydence Hasselberger was medalist with a 4-over-par 40 on the back nine.

Onalaska was led by fifth-place sophomore Finley Schams (45) and sixth-place senior Rickie Tillotson (46). Junior Becka Mohr (48) and senior Sydney Kranig (49) also checked in at ninth and 10th, respectively.

Seventh-place sophomore Kaylee Banse (47) shot the low round for the Vikings, who also received rounds of 52 from freshman Serene Mather, 53 from junior Emily Napiecek and 57 from senior Teagan Nelson.

Junior Gabriella Stratman was part of the 10th-place tie at 49 for the lowest round in the Blugolds’ scorecard. Senior Molly Swift added a 52, senior Lucy Reyerson a 60 and senior Hayden Zehren a 61 for Aquinas.

Senior Elena Wagner shot s 53 to lead Central/Logan. Senior Angela Berra added a 58, senior Emma Roesler a 59 and senior Jaymeson Buxton a 63.
