Saturday girls swimming: O/H/A/G wins Wisconsin Rapids Invitational

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Onalaska/Holmen/Aquinas/G-E-T girls swim team will take its unbeaten season to Baraboo next week on the heels of a championship at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational on Saturday.

O/H/A/G crowned two individual champions and three relay champions while accumulating 399 points to beat second-place Lakeland (260) and third-place Merrill (220).

Onnalee Wolff was part of three victories and Elin Gilles, Lydia Hale and Lydia Foster two for O/H/A/G, with Wolff winning one of the individual races and Gilles and Foster swimming on two victorious relays.

Wolff won the 200-yard freestyle in 2 minutes, 4.77 seconds and swam with Gilles, Zeena Ott and Foster on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:47.23). Hale, Ott, Laney Brandl and Wolff also won the 400 freestyle relay in 4:07.32.

Ellie Witcik won the 500 freestyle in 6:12.04, and Hale, Josie Rupple, Gilles and Foster won the 200 medley relay in 2:00.64.

Ott added second place in the 200 individual medley (2:30.91), Foster was second in the 50 freestyle (26.57) and third in the 100 freestyle (59.76), and Wolff was third in the 100 butterfly (1:07.72). Brandl was also second in the 500 freestyle (6:21.83) and Rupple third in the 100 breaststroke (1:17.47).

Aubrey Ebersold had a personal record in the 100 butterfly (1:11.63) and season best in the 50 freestyle (27.94). Other personal bests were recorded by Claire Eddy in the 200 freestyle (2:25.29) and 500 freestyle (6:38.6), Brandl in the 50 freestyle (28.34), Gabriella Hoff in the 100 freestyle (1:16.89), Ajax McConnell in the 100 freestyle (1:09.86), Alivia Wickstrom in the 100 breaststroke (1:24.44) and Jade Gasnier in the 50 freestyle (43.44) and 100 freestyle (1:47.09).
