Thursday boys soccer report: Onalaska wins another shutout; Holmen remains unbeaten

ONALASKA — The Onalaska High School boys soccer team scored twice in the first half and three more goals in the second on the way to a 5-0 MVC victory over visiting Logan on Thursday.

Elijah Fernandes and Ben Zivney combined on the shutout in goal for the Hilltoppers (3-1-1).

Sophomore Ben Hauser scored three times to lead the Onalaska offense, and he had two of those scores in the first half.

Senior Alex Hauser assisted on the first with a cross that Ben took off his chest to a dribble toward the far post in the seventh minute. The second goal was unassisted after a won ball outside the 18 in the 12th.

Senior Donovan Luckstad sent a cross toward Hauser for the third goal in the 49th minute.

Sophomore Aiden Hoff and senior Julio Aparicio scored Onalaska’s last two goals. Hoff scored unassisted in the 58th minute and Apariciao with an assist from Ben Hauser in the 78th. Aparicio beat the Logan goalkeeper to the ball for his goal.

Holmen 3, West Salem 1

WEST SALEM — Three players scored for the Vikings (4-0-1, 2-0), who remained unbeaten this season and won their fourth game in a row.

Sophomore Ethan Johnson, junior Brock Needham and sophomore Chale Vang scored for Holmen, which led 1-0 at the half.

Johnson scored from 18 yards out with an assist from junior Shae Hoffman for the halftime lead before Hoffman set up junior Brock Needham for the second goal and a 2-0 lead.

Kayden Tauscher scored for the Panthers to cut the deficit in half, but Yang turned a steal and breakaway into the final goal for the Vikings.

Tomah 1, Aquinas 0

TOMAH — The Timberwolves shut out the Blugolds.

GIRLS
St. Charles 2, Caledonia 0

CALEDONIA — The Warriors (1-3) were shut out after allowing two goals in the first half, but junior Alexis Qualy had 13 saves.
