LA CROSSE — The Onalaska High School girls golf team shot a collective 369 and placed second to Tomah in an MVC meet at Forest Hills Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Hilltoppers were 20 shots behind the Timberwolves, who have won all three conference meets, and led by sophomore Finley Schams, who placed third individually with a 14-over-par 86 and a birdie on No. 15.
Senior Sydney Kranig was seventh (92) and junior Becka Mohr eighth (94) for Onalaska, which had its scored rounded out by senior Rickie Tillotson’s 97.
Aquinas placed third with a 393 and Holmen fourth at 401. Central/Logan placed fifth (431).
The Blugolds were led by senior individual runner-up Molly Swift, whose 85 was only beaten by Tomah medalist Karma Hasselberger (79). Swift recorded two birdies — at the par-3 seventh and par-4 eighth — and shot a 3-over 39 on the front nine.
The Vikings were led by junior Emily Napiecek, who was eighth with a 94, and Central/Logan was led by 13th-place senior Elena Wagner (101).
Aquinas received additional scoring rounds from senior Lucy Reyerson (99), senior Hayden Zehren (104) and junior Gabriella Stratman (106).
Holmen received a 101 from freshman Serene Mather and 103s from senior Teagan Nelson and sophomore Kaylee Banse, and Central/Logan had additional scoring rounds from senior Jaymeson Buxton (107), senior Alayna Berra (109) and senior Emma Roesler (114).
