HOLMEN — The Holmen High School boys soccer team scored once in the first half and twice in the second to hand visiting Central a 3-0 defeat in an MVC game on Tuesday.
The Vikings (3-0-1 overall, 1-0 MVC) remained unbeaten with goals from senior Jacob Lor and Braylan Welch and junior Jacob Simmons and won their third straight game after starting the season with a tie against Pulaski.
Simmons opened the scoring with an assist from sophomore Preston McHugh.
Lor opened the scoring in the second half by beating the goalkeeper unassisted before Welch converted on a shot set up by Simmons.
Holmen continues its season at West Salem on Thursday.
Onalaska 1, Tomah 0
TOMAH — The Hilltoppers (2-1-1, 1-0) scored once in the second half to emerge victorious after the Timberwolves weren’t able to convert on some opportunities they created in the first half.
Senior Gavin Sommerfield scored the goal for Onalaska with an assist from senior Benji Zimmer. The goal was set up on a pass across the backline, and Sommerfield converted on a shot from 30 yards out.
Senior Elijah Fernandes recorded his second straight shutout for the Hilltoppers.

LA CROSSE — The Blugolds, who are ranked ninth in Division 4 by state coaches, beat the Rangers at Fields for Kids by answering an early goal with two of their own.
