Thursday’s volleyball/girls swimming report: Caledonia’s Klug gets 1,000th dig; Regan wins 4 events

ST. CHARLES — The Caledonia High School volleyball team kept alive an unbeaten streak to start its season by handing St. Charles a 25-9, 25-23, 25-20 defeat on Thursday.

Senior Kensey King, junior Elsa Blum and freshman Ashlyn Reinhart all had seven kills for the Warriors, while senior Aubrie Klug had 14 digs and reached the 1,000 mark for her career.

Junior Avery Augedahl had 24 assists and seven digs, and Reinhart added seven digs. King had three blocks and junior Vivian Kittleson three service aces.

Great River City Sprawl

ONALASKA — Central won two of three matches to complete a 5-2 tournament and third-place finish in the silver bracket.

Junior Ella Crawford had 19 kills as the RiverHawks beat Fall Creek 17-25, 25-18, 15-13 and Richland Center 25-11, 25-22 and lost to Green Bay Preble 25-21, 28-30, 15-12.

Junior McKenna Michaels added 14 kills, and junior Ellie Gillitzer had 55 assists, 24 digs, 8 kills and 8 service aces.

Juniors Mady Young had 11 kills and 31 digs and junior Celia Christopherson 23 digs for Central.

Central/Logan/West Salem 86, Marshfield 72

LA CROSSE — The co-op had nine event winners in a meet hosted at UW-La Crosse.

Central sophomore Elle Regan provided winning points in four events with individual victories in the 100-yard freestyle (56.37 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.93) and contributed to relay wins in the 200 medley (2:03.09) and 200 freestyle (1:47.71).

West Salem freshman Lily Wolf and Logan seniors Avery Farmer and Johanna Hall were all part of three victories.

Wolf won the 500 freestyle (5:44.63) and swam with the 200 medley and 400 freestyle (4:08.75) relays.

Farmer was on the same relays and won the 200 individual medley (2:28.84), and Hall won the 200 freestyle (2:08.13) and 100 butterfly (1:04.56) and swam with the 400 freestyle relay.

Logan junior Annika Vianden swam on the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays. Logan junior Finley Thompson was on the 200 freestyle relay, and West Salem junior Breely O’Donnell was on the 400 freestyle relay.
