ONALASKA — The Onalaska girls golf team had four of the top nine individual performers and was led by fourth-place junior Becka Mohr during a runner-up finish in the first MVC meet of the season at Coulee Golf Bowl on Thursday.
Mohr shot a 13-over-par 87 to lead the Hilltoppers on a day that included a team score of 362, which was well behind first-place Tomah (341) and comfortable ahead of third-place Holmen (400).
Mohr highlighted her round with a birdie on No. 4 and was backed up by sixth-place sophomore teammate Finley Schams (90). Senior Rickie Tillotson and senior Sydney Kranig added rounds of 92 and 93, respectively in a meet that was won by Tomah senior Karma Hasselberger (79).
Aquinas senior Molly Swift’s third-place 82 was the low round for couleesports.com golfers, and she shot a 43 on the front nine and a 39 on the back nine. She birdied No. 8 on the front and No. 18 on the back. Swift also parred six holes on the back to contribute to her 39.
The Blugolds finished fourth (425), and Swift’s performance was added to a 112 by junior Gabriella Stratman, a 113 by senior Lucy Reyerson and a 118 by senior Hayden Zehren.
The third-place Vikings were led by seventh-place freshman Serene Mather (91) and 13th-place sophomore Kaylee Banse (98). Junior Emily Napiecek hot a 102 and senior Teagan Nelson a 109.
The Central/Logan team shot a 440 to place fifth and was led by senior Jaymeson Buxton’s round of 98. Senior Elena Wagner added a 100 and senior Emma Roesler a 115 while senior Alayna Berra and sophomore Sofia Cedergren both shot 127 to tie for the final scoring spot.
