SAUK PRAIRIE — The Central co-operative boys lacrosse team won a pair of games while traveling to Sauk Prairie on Saturday.
The Lightning beat Sauk Prairie 14-3 and Pulaski 17-4 to improve their season record to 6-5.
The team, which is comprised of players from Central, Aquinas, Logan, Onalaska, Holmen, Luther and West Salem, built comfortable leads in the first half of both games.
Central’s Grayson Veum and Luther’s Jax Hendrickson each had five goals and two assists in the win over Sauk Prairie. La Crosse led 7-3 by the end of the first half and also received two goals and two assists from Central’s Charlie Seehafer.
The team built an 11-3 lead after one half against Pulaski and was led by Veum’s nine goals and two assists. Seehafer had three goals and one assist, and Central’s Zach Adams won 87.5 percent of his faceoffs, winning 14 of them. Central freshman Keya Lee won 5 of his 6 faceoffs in the second half.
Holmen’s Devin Caulum had seven saves, and Central’s Owen Sauter had four.
