NEW LISBON — The West Salem High School boys golf team placed second in a Coulee Conference meet held at Castle Rock Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Panthers shot a collective 167, which trailed only Black River Falls and its 164.
Arcadia was fourth (173) and Onalaska Luther fifth (175).
West Salem sophomore Noah Wachter placed second individually with a 3-over-par 39 as the teams played the back nine. Wachter birdied No. 17 and was 1 under over the final three holes.
Arcadia freshman Landon Jaszewski was part of a tie for third place at 40 in a meet won by Westby/Viroqua’s Brooks Hoffland (38).
Senior Kyle Hehli (42) and seniors Logan Oldenburg (43) and Gavin Loging (43) also had scoring rounds for the second-place Panthers.
Senior Stryder Miller added a 43 for Arcadia, and the Knights were led by freshman Robert Bruns (42).
