ASL wiffle ball report: Holmen uses Hermann hit to beat Logan

LA CROSSE — The Holmen High School ASL wiffle ball team took the lead on a hit by Nick Hermann in the fifth inning to beat Logan 11-10 on Tuesday.

The Vikings and Rangers played a close game from start to finish, but Holmen was able to maintain the lead after Hermann’s final hit.

The Vikings held the Rangers scoreless in the second and fifth innings with solid defense. Outfield communication was strong, according to assistant coach Nicole Gullickson, and smart plays were made to shut down Logan rallies.

Holmen also scored five runs in the first inning, two in the second and two in the fourth to end a tough losing streak. Ann Gappa had a clutch base hit, and Jaiden Lambright doubled for the Vikings in the victory.
