SPARTA — The Onalaska High School boys olf team shot a 324 to place second and hold off third-place Holmen by one stroke in the 17-team Spartan Invitational at River Run Golf Course on Saturday.
C-FC won the team championship with a 319 behind senior medalist Cameron Lipinski and his 3-under-par 69.
The Hilltoppers were led by freshman Rylan Tomashek and sophomore Chasen Witt, who were part of a tie for sixth place at 80. Senior John Werwinski shot an 81 and freshman Colton Schroeder an 83.
The top local individual was Aquinas sophomore Jack Vogel, who shot a 78 and clipped Arcadia freshman Landon Jaszewski and Central/Logan senior Maddox Herlitzke by one shot. Vogel helped the Blugolds finish fourth at 327.
The third-place Vikings were led by junior Logan Pinnow, who was part of that sixth-place tie at 80. So was Onalaska Luther freshman Robert Bruns.
West Salem placed 14th and was led by sophomore Noah Wachter’s 92.
Aquinas freshman James Siegert and Holmen seniors Cale Halaska and Spencer Gault were part of a tie for 10th place with rounds of 81.
