ARCADIA — The West Salem High School boys golf team won its second straight Coulee Conference meet of the season with a three-shot victory at the Arcadia Country Club on Thursday.
The Panthers, who also won the first meet of the season at the Coulee Golf Bowl, had two of the top six golfers at Arcadia and were led by senior Kyle Hehli, who shot a 3-under-par 33 with birdies on the final three holes . He beat Westby/Viroqua’s Brooks Hoffland by two shots for medalist honors.
West Salem’s team score of 157 was three better than second-place Onalaska Luther (160) and four ahead of third-place Black River Falls (161).
Arcadia finished sixth with a team score of 171.
The Panthers also received a 2-over 38 from sophomore Noah Wachter and 43s from seniors Logan Oldenburg and Gavin Loging.
The Knights were led by third-place freshman Robert Bruns and his round of 37. Seniors Ian Bass, Logan Sherry and Will Huelskamp all shot 41s for Luther.
Freshman Landon Jaszewski shot a 40 and placed seventh individually to lead the Raiders. Senior Stryder Miller was tied for ninth (41), and senior Carson Schultz shot a 43 and sophomore Brogan Solberg a 47.
