Tuesday hockey report: West Salem/Bangor loses lead, then conference game in second overtime

WEST SALEM — The Black River Falls co-op scored three times in the third period to come back from a deficit, but Calvin Lakowske scored with an assist from Drew Apicella to help it hand West Salem/Bangor a 7-6 loss in the Coulee Conference game played at the Panther Den on Tuesday.

Senior Tyler Meyer had four goals and one assist for the Panthers (4-13), who took a 4-3 lead into the third. Meyer extended that to 5-3 by converting a pass from Coen Knutson 15 seconds into the third, then forced overtime by tying the game at 6 with assists from Terryn Boland and Aiden Hillyer at 16:33 of the third.

Josef Gasper and Kayden Tauscher also scored goals for West Salem/Bangor. Cade Donahue added an assist.

Meyer leads the team with 20 goals this season and is tied with Jaycob Brown and Boland for the team lead in assists (11).
