ONALASKA — The Onalaska Luther High School girls basketball team bounced back from a slow first half to score 34 second-half points and beat Arcadia 46-32 in a Coulee Conference game on Thursday.
The second-place Knights (13-3, 8-1) posted their fourth win in a row and completed a regular-season sweep of the third-place Raiders (11-7, 6-3) and had 24 steals along the way.
Freshman Cara Unke scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed four rebounds for Luther, which scored just 12 points in the first half. Freshman Natalie Hackbarth also scored eight points and pulled down a team-high six rebounds for the Knights, who outscored Arcadia by 16 points after halftime. Paytn Holub added eight points, five rebounds and four steals.
Senior Macie Neumeister had a team-high seven steals for Luther.
Sophomore Tatum Drazkowski had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Raiders. She made 7 of 10 shots and hit 3 of 4 attempts from the 3-point line. Joselyn Lockington added nine points.
West Salem 86, Black River Falls 45
BLACK RIVER FALLS — The Panthers (14-3, 8-0) maintained a half-game lead on second-place Luther by building a 13-point halftime lead, then holding the Tigers to 17 second-half points.
Senior Megan Johnson scored 26 points — she made 8 of 10 free throws — and had 15 of those in the second half. West Salem won its third straight game as it prepares to host Holmen on Friday. Josie Brudos made three 3-pointers and added 18 points, while Sydney Quick scored 10 for the Panthers.
Goodhue 64, Caledonia 60
GOODHUE — The Warriors (18-3), ranked sixth in Class AA, had a 10-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Wildcats (16-4), who are ranked first in Class A.
Nicole Banse and Aubrie Klug each scored a team-high 21 points for Caledonia, which also received 10 from Josie Foster.
