HOLMEN — The Holmen High School boys basketball team opened its season with an 81-37 nonconference win over La Crescent-Hokah at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Friday.
Junior Jayden Bartels and sophomore Cohen Kendhammer scored 13 points apiece to lead the Vikings in a game they led 44-23 by halftime. Holmen made eight 3-pointers, and Bartels and junior Jax Meyer made three apiece.
The Vikings shot 56.9 percent from the floor (33 for 58) and made 25 of 36 shots (69.4 percent) of their shots from inside the 3-point line.
Senior Alex Berget added 11 points, seven rebounds and a team-high seven assists, and Meyer added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore Ayden Reiser also scored 11 points for the Vikings.
