BEAVER DAM — The Aquinas High School girls basketball team picked up its first victory over the season on Saturday by dropping Stevens Point Pacelli 72-50 at the Beaver Dam Classic.

Aquinas senior Sammy Davis was dominant with 28 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and four steals. She made 11 of 18 shots against Pacelli and scored 53 points and had 23 rebounds during the two-game weekend tournament.
Junior guards Eva Willenbring and Ava Fernholz each added 10 points for the Blugolds, who host Madison Edgewood — last season’s WIAA Division 2 state runner-up — on Tuesday. The Crusaders, who have beaten Aquinas two straight times, have not yet played this season.
