LA CROSSE — The Aquinas High School football team was represented by three players as the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association released its All-State teams on Tuesday.
Senior offensive and defensive lineman Will Flottmeyer, senior wide receiver Logan Becker and junior defensive back Brady Lee all found spots on the list of honorees for the association’s Small School selections.
So did De Soto senior linebacker Bryce Schultz, who made the 8-player list, and Arcadia senior runner back Max Blaschko, who joined the Aquinas trio with the Small Schools.
Flottmeyer, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound North Dakota recruit, was chosen for the first team on both sides of the ball.
He was part of 48 total tackles as the Blugolds went 11-1, won the Coulee Conference and advanced to the final round of eight for the fifth straight season. He made 16 of those stops behind the line of scrimmage and finished with 5.5 sacks.
Flottmeyer also helped Aquinas average 39 points per game and record big victories over Columbus and West Salem during the regular season and Amery and Osceola during the WIAA Division 4 postseason.
Schultz was named to the first team for 8-player honorees, and Becker, Lee and Blaschko all received honorable mention.
Schultz, an impact player offensively and defensively for the Pirates. Of his 72 total tackles, 51 were solos, and he had five tackles for loss, three sacks and a fumble recovery.
Schultz also caught 27 passes for 650 yards and 10 touchdowns and rushed 41 times for 441 yards and three touchdowns.
Becker had 38 catches for 609 yards and seven touchdowns this season for the Blugolds and finished his career with 115 catches for 2,069 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Lee, who played all over the field for Aquinas, was part of 52 tackles and made 19 of them on solo efforts. He had four tackles for loss, an interception and made 21 catches for 439 yards and five TDs to go with a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Blaschko rushed for 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also caught five passes for 58 yards and made 10 tackles for loss on defense. Among his 39 total tackles — 27 solos — were three sacks.
