WHITEHALL — The Melrose-Mindoro High School volleyball team picked up a 23-25, 14-25, 25-17, 25-13, 15-9 Dairyland Conference victory over Whitehall on Thursday.
The Mustangs (5-10 overall, 2-3 Dairyland) played their strongest after the second set to beat the Norse (6-7, 3-2) convincingly the rest of the way.
Junior Bella Rozek had 14 kills and two blocks for Melrose-Mindoro, which snapped a five-match losing streak.
Junior Opal Buchanan had 14 assists and senior Abby Heimdahl 13 assists for the Mustangs. Senior libero Anna Radcliffe had a team-high 21 digs.

CALEDONIA — The Warriors (3-9) were blanked by the Lancers (10-3-1) after allowing four goals in the first half.
La Crescent-Hokah received two goals each from junior Maggie Crosby and freshman Isabel Perry. Freshmen Anna Wood and Keira Timm also scored for the Lancers.
