High school football: By the numbers

A look at some of the significant numbers after another week of high school football for local teams:

3: Local games that were completed — 2 of them played four quarters and 1 conceded in the first half after waiting 2 hours — on Friday night instead of being pushed to Saturday after rain and lightning.

5: Players who scored at least 1 touchdown for Aquinas in its 45-12 Saturday victory over Onalaska Luther.

12: Touchdowns West Salem quarterback Drew McConkey is responsible for (9 passing, 3 rushing) after throwing 2 TD passes in Friday’s 13-0 weather-shortened win over Arcadia.

38: Points scored by De Soto in the first quarter of its 62-12 Ridge and Valley win over Wisconsin Heights. The Pirates scored on 6 of their first 11 plays.

53.6: Seconds remaining when Central scored the tying touchdown and winning extra point in a 13-12 victory over Logan in the 100th installment of the Ark of Victory game.

135: Receiving yards for Central senior Connor Groth, who scored both touchdowns in the 13-12 win at Logan.

147: Season-high passing yards for Caledonia’s Will Allen, who completed 3 TD passes in an 18-0 win at Dover-Eyota.

155: Passing yards for Holmen, which passed for more yards that it rushed for in a 22-21 win over Reedsburg. Quarterback Colin Williams also rushed for 57 yards and had a hand in all 3 of his team’s touchdowns.

434: Total yards (263 passing, 171 rushing) for Onalaska in its 51-13 MVC victory at Baraboo.

505: Rushing yards for Logan’s Maxim Roberts in his last 3 games after gaining 85 and scoring the sixth and seventh TDs during that stretch in Saturday’s 13-12 loss to Central.
