TOMAH — The Holmen High School softball team split two games at a quadrangular in Tomah on Saturday.
The Vikings (7-11) started with an 8-3 victory over Monona Grove before suffering a 4-3 loss to Verona.
Holmen pulled away from a 3-2 lead by scoring four times in the bottom of the fifth inning. Third baseman Avalee Euler and Kaitlyn Weiss each drove in a run in the fourth, and Taylor Everson scored on a passed ball.
Weiss was 3 for 3 and Euler 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Everson and Euler doubled while Gabi Stuhr limited the Silver Eagles to three hits.
The Wildcats tied the Vikings with a run in the bottom of the seventh inning and won it with another in the bottom of the eighth.
Center fielder McKenna McHugh was 2 for 3 with a double, a triple and scored two runs. Euler hit a solo home run.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Blugolds (9-12) had 11 hits to win the first game and gave up 11 runs in the seventh inning to lose the second.
Abby Ziolkowski was 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs against Amherst, while Kathryn Savoldelli hit a home run while going 2 for 4 and matching Ziolkowski’s three runs driven in. Sophie Bisek also had two hits for Aquinas,
Savoldelli, Ava Fernholz and Lauren Von Ruden all had three hits against Columbus. Savoldelli tripled, and Fernholz and Von Ruden doubled as the Blugolds took a 7-4 lead to the bottom of the seventh.
