WISCONSIN DELLS — The Holmen High School boys golf team placed sixth and Onalaska seventh during the Battle of the Rock at Wild Rock Golf Club on Monday.
The Vikings shot a team score of 319 and the Hilltoppers 321 in a 24-team meet won by Middleton (291).
Onalaska freshman Rylan Tomashek shot a 1-under-par 71 to tie for fifth place individually. Tomashek had three of his four birdies on the back nine.
Edgerton senior Caleb Kern shot a 66 to win medalist honors, and Tomashek tied with Waunakee’s Payton Albers at 71.
Holmen was led by senior Cale Halaska, who tied for 14th place with a 76. Senior Spencer Gault shot a 79, junior Braylan Welch an 80 and junior Logan Pinnow an 84 for the Vikings.
Sophomore Chasen Witt shot a 78 and tied for 20th place for Onalaska. Senior Noah Chenault shot an 84 and senior John Werwinski an 88 for the Hilltoppers.
