ARKDALE — The Aquinas High School boys golf team shot a 339 and placed second in the 21-team Adams-Friendship Invitational at Northern Bay Resort on Thursday.
The Blugolds finished 20 shots behind victorious Sparta. Onalaska Luther placed 12th with a 370.
Freshman James Siegert shot an 11-over-par 83 and tied for 11th place as the low local individual. Sophomore teammates Gabe Hundt and Jack Vogel were part of a tie for 16th place with rounds of 84. Sophomore Michael Jones shot an 88 and tied for 30th.
Freshman Robert Bruns was part of the 16th-place tie and had the best round of the day for the Knights. Senior Synclair Byus shot a 91, senior Logan Sherry a 95 and senior Ian Bass a 96.
Westby/Viroqua’s Brooks Hoffland was meet medalist with s 76, which was two shots better than Sparta’s Alec Von Ruden.
