Thursday tennis report: Aquinas sweeps singles matchups to hold off Onalaska 4-3

ONALASKA — Singles prevailed over doubles as the Aquinas High School boys tennis team picked up a 4-3 MVC victory over Onalaska at Gullikson Courts on Thursday.

The Blugolds won all four singles matches, and the Hilltoppers prevailed in all three doubles matchups.
Onalaska’s Carter Fortun and Soham Patel pulled out a 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 victory over Grant Niegelsen and Henry McGovern at No. 2 doubles in the only match that went three sets.

Anderson Fortney gave the Blugolds a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Lewis Go at No. 1 singles, and Vishnu Prakash and Porter Mallady beat Patrick Gundersen and Isaac Capelli 6-3, 6-3 for the Hilltoppers at No. 1 doubles.
