LA CROSSE — The Logan High School baseball team used a four-run bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead for good and set itself up for a 10-4 nonconference win over Adams-Friendship at Copeland Park on Friday.
Left fielder James Gruen went 2 for 3 and four players drove in two runs apiece as the Rangers (6-3) bounced back from an MVC loss to Tomah.
Two walks and a bunt single loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth after Adams-Friendship had taken a 4-3 lead in the top of the inning. A groundout played one run, and Tommy Check followed with a two-run single and later stole home for the 7-4 lead and one of his three stolen bases.
Bradley Check, Preston Elston and Hank Bosch all drove in two runs.
Jackson Bosch, Owen Check and Logan Hanson combined to strike out 10 and limit Adams-Friendship to three hits.
