HAMMOND — The Aquinas High School boys basketball team used a string start to remain unbeaten with a 56-47 nonconference victory at St. Croix Central on Saturday.
The Blugolds (11-0) built a 13-point lead in the first half and battled through the second to hand the Panthers (3-7) a loss.
Sophomore Calvin Bahr scored 10 points in each half for a team-high 20 to lead three double-figure scorers. His performance followed up an 18-point performance against Logan this week.
Senior Trey Bahr added 13 and junior Logan Becker 11 as the Blugolds made just two shots from 3-point range.
Aquinas plays at Onalaska (9-2, 2-1) on Tuesday.

La Crosse Central 49, Fall Creek 44
FALL CREEK — The RiverHawks (9-4) bounced back from a tough outing at Aquinas on Friday by stopping a four-game winning streak for the Crickets (8-4) in a game they trailed by 10 points.
Junior Alahnna Simpson scored a team-high 23 points one day after being held to seven and pulled down nine rebounds. Sophomore Ellie Gillitzer scored all 10 of her points in the second half and made two 3-pointers to help bring Central back from its double-figure deficit.
Junior Emmerson Keeney scored five points but had a key three-point play on a hoop and foul during the RiverHawks’ comeback.
Menomonie 55, Onalaska 45
MENOMONIE — The Hilltoppers (6-6) had a five-game winning streak come to an end despite a big game from senior Tatum Walters.
Walters connected on six 3-pointers and scored a team-high 20 points for Onalaska, which faced a 28-25 halftime deficit. Walters made four of her 3s in the second half, and she has made eight 3-pointers over the past two games.
Freshman Kayla Ketelhut added 12 points for the Hilltoppers, who host Aquinas (9-3, 4-0) on Tuesday in a 5:45 p.m. tipoff.
