GALESVILLE — The G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro boys wrestling team recorded a significant dual victory by beating West Salem/Bangor 42-31 at the Russ Lind Gymnasium on Thursday.
The Titans, ranked sixth in Division 2 by Wisconsin Grappler, won eight of 14 matches and recorded six pins to claim a win over the fourth-ranked Catbirds.
G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro won five of the final six matches after West Salem/Bangor took a 25-21 lead with technical fall by senior Mason Chambers (32-3) at 157 pounds.
But senior Jayce Stetzer (30-6) beat Justice Elam (28-10) 1-0 at 165 to get the Titans going and kick off the stretch of five wins over seven matches.
Sophomore Merek Windsor (25-14) gave G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro a 30-25 lead when he pinned freshman Warren Caulum at 175, the Catbirds took their final lead on a Caden Anderson (31-4) pin over Braden Peterson (14-3) at the 3:43 mark of the 190-pound match.
Junior Aaron Dunigan (32-4) and sophomore Brock Kaz (26-7) gave the Titans the match with pins over Kaden Langrehr (5-1) and Kaiden Stello (30-10) at 215 and 285, respectively.
Senior Teghan Moore (32-5) picked up a big victory for West Salem/Bangor with a pin of Gunnar Kremer (23-6) at 126, and junior Brody Banse (29-7) won a 12-7 decision from junior Jarett Plomedahl (23-9) for the Titans at 150.
Holmen 37, Aquinas 28
HOLMEN — The Vikings, ranked second in Division 1 by Wisconsin Grappler, beat the Blugolds, ranked first in Division 3, for a big MVC victory at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse.
Holmen won the first two matches — junior Colin Griffin (23-14) at 190 and Connor Degner (17-16) at 215 — and never trailed.

Logan/Central Triangular
LA CROSSE — The city co-op beat Onalaska/Luther 70-12 and won a tiebreaker after tying Eau Claire North at 38 to win a triangular at the Steve Hole Field House.
Junior Calvin Arentz (33-5) won once by pin and once by forfeit at 175, and sophomore Emerson King (22-6) won twice by pin at 138 for Logan/Central.
Sophomore Mason Welch also won twice at 126, sophomore Rock West won twice at 132 and junior Onesimus West won twice at 144 for the co-op.
Onalaska/Luther sophomore Triston Hodson (16-14) won twice at 113.
