ROCHESTER — The top-seeded Caledonia High School volleyball team will have to beat a familiar foe if it wants to qualify for the MSHSL Class AA state tournament on Saturday.
The Warriors (26-5) took care of fourth-seeded Winona Cotter 25-20, 25-17, 25-22 in a Section 1AA semifinal at the Rochester Mayo Civic Arena on Thursday, and that gives them a rematch with second-seeded Chatfield in two days.
Caledonia swept the Gophers (24-7) during their Three Rivers Conference match this season and plays them again in a 10 a.m. start at the Mayo Civic Arena on Saturday with a section championship on the line.
Freshman Ashlyn Reinhart led the Warriors with nine kills and added six digs, three service aces and 1.5 block to her stat line.
Junior Adrienne Lange had seven kills and 2.5 blocks and junior Paizley Lange eight digs, three kills, one block and one ace.
Junior Avery Augedahl led the team with 29 assists and added six digs and two blocks, while junior Elsa Blum and senior Kenzey King had five kills apiece.
King added 2.5 blocks and Blum a team-high 14 digs.
