HOLMEN — Junior Kian Carlisle scored twice in the first five minutes to get the Holmen High School ASL soccer team’s season off on the right foot.
Carlisle gave the Vikings a quick advantage, and they turned it into a 6-2 victory over Central in the first game of the season at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Thursday.
Carter Van Lin made a couple of key saves in goal for Holmen early, but the Vikings made a switch and moved sophomore Gabe Schams to goal and used Van Lin as an offensive player. Van Lin responded with a goal that gave the Vikings a 3-0 halftime lead.
Senior Wade Schuster made it 5-0 with a pair of goals after halftime before the RiverHawks scored twice. Kai Rice added the final goal for the Vikings.

LA CROSSE — The Panthers received three goals from Levi Wulf to beat the Rangers.
Wulf started the game in goal before moving to offense and scoring three times to send West Salem/Bangor to victory.
Cam Arndt and Lexi Randall also scored for the Panthers, and Randall, Emma Field and Bri Smith helped Arndt’s early goal keep their team in front with strong defense. Arndt followed his goal by swapping positions with Wulf and contributed positively in a second spot during his first season of ASL athletics.
The Rangers received three goals from Neveah Dyon and another from Dylan Slabaugh to push West Salem/Bangor in a game that was tied until the closing minutes.
Slabaugh and Carroll Hopkins played in goal for Logan, and Davante Atwell was his team’s player of the game for the defense he played while matched up with West Salem/Bangor’s top players. Atwell also kept the ball moving on offense and nearly tied the game in the closing seconds.
