LA CROSSE — The La Crosse co-op girls swim team won nine of 11 events and posted a 97-72 victory over Platteville/Lancaster at UW-La Crosse on Tuesday.
The team, which has swimmers from Central, Logan and West Salem, won seven individual events and two relays to secure the victory.
Finley Thompson, a senior from Logan, was a four-event winner for the team with two individual victories and two spots on victorious relays. Thompson won the 50-yard freestyle (27.9 seconds) and 100 freestyle (1:02.69) and swam with the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:58.19) and 400 freestyle relay (4:26.03).
West Salem sophomore Lilyana Wolf, Logan senior Annika Vianden and Central freshman Adalynn Steedle all posted three victories.
Wolf won the 200 individual medley (2:21.72), the 100 breaststroke (1:17.25) and swam with the 200 freestyle relay.
Vianden won the 100 butterfly (1:08.38) and 100 backstroke (1:11.06) and was part of the 400 freestyle relay.
Steedle won the 500 freestyle (6:37.03) and was part of both winning relays.
Central sophomore Rozlyn Swenson was part of the 200 freestyle relay and West Salem senior Breeley O’Donnell part of the 400 freestyle relay.
