LA CROSSE — Senior Sammy Davis scored 24 points and had five steals as the top-seeded Aquinas High School girls basketball team knocked off fourth-seeded Viroqua 75-30 in a WIAA Division 3 regional championship game at the Reinhart Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Davis made 9 of 11 shots from the floor and 6 of 8 free throws in a game Aquinas (24-2) led 44-10 at the half.
The Blugolds — fifth in Division 3 for this week’s Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports media poll — next plays third-ranked Wisconsin Dells (26-0) in a sectional semifinal on Thursday at a location to be named.
Junior Liv Dickinson and senior Alaina Elias both scored 11 points for Aquinas, which also received 10 from junior Eva Willenbring. Ava Fernholz and Willenbring each added five steals and combined for 13 assists.

Central 52, Onalaska 41
LA CROSSE — The RiverHawks (20-6) advanced to a sectional semifinal against top-seeded Rice Lake on Thursday by beating the third-seeded Hilltoppers (19-7) for the third time.
Freshman Ellie Apuan scored 23 points to lead Central, and sophomore Kayla Ketelhut scored 13 to lead Onalaska. Sophomore Kenzie Bauer added 12 for the Hilltoppers.
Division 4
Luther 53, Poynette 39
ONALASKA — The second-seeded Knights (17-9) collected their third win in a row for their first regional championship since 2014.
Luther advances to play top-seeded Pardeeville on Thursday at a location to be determined.
The Knights gave themselves a seven-point lead after one half, then held the Pumas to 18 second-half points.
Sophomore Brinley Schmitz scored a team-high 13 points and led three players in double figures. Sophomore Cara Unke added 12 points and sophomore Natalie Hackbarth 10 for Luther.
Pardeeville 68, Melrose-Mindoro 52
PARDEEVILLE — The fifth-seeded Mustangs (13-14) had their season come to an end against the top-seeded Bulldogs (25-1).
Melrose-Mindoro found itself in an 11-point hole by the end of the first half, and Pardeeville put things away in the second.
Senior Anna Radcliffe made three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 20 points for the Mustangs. Junior teammate Bristol Coats added 12.
