SPARTA — The Onalaska High School girls basketball team knocked down 13 3-pointers on its way to a 65-37 MVC victory at Sparta on Tuesday.
The Hilltoppers (17-6, 8-4) won their third game in a row and secured third place in the conference standings. Onalaska made six 3-pointers in the first half and seven in the second.
Sophomore Kayla Ketelhut scored a team-high 22 points and made four 3-pointers.
Junior teammate Olivia Passehl made four 3s for 12 points and junior Finley Walters two on her way to eight points.
The Hilltoppers held the Spartans to 16 first-half points and close out their regular season by hosting West Salem (13-8) on Thursday.
Central 63, Logan 35
LA CROSSE — The RiverHawks (18-5, 9-2 MVC) continued their momentum with a third consecutive victory heading into Thursday’s game at first-place Aquinas (21-2, 11-0).
Freshman Ellie Apuan scored a team-high 19 points for Central, which also received 13 from senior Emmerson King.
The Rangers (5-18, 1-10) were led by senior Lydia Mason’s four 3-pointers and 19 points. Sophomore Amaya Rocha added eight points for Logan.
Holmen 68, Tomah 36
TOMAH — The Vikings (15-8, 6-5 MVC) picked up a second straight win heading into Thursday’s regular-season finale at home against Logan.
Senior Macy Kline made two 3-pointers and scored a team-high 16 points for Holmen. She made both 3s and had 12 points in the first half.
Senior Charley Casey and sophomore Makenzie Nunemacher added 12 points apiece as the Vikings completed a season sweep of the Timberwolves.
