Friday girls basketball: Klug breaks Caledonia’s program scoring record in win over Cotter

WINONA — Caledonia High School senior Aubrie Klug became her program’s all-time leading scorer in a 77-55 Three Rivers Conference-East Division victory at Winona Cotter on Friday.

Klug scored 19 points to break the previous record of 1,760 held by Mariah Schroeder by five as the first-place Warriors (15-3, 5-0) won their eighth game in a row. They also opened a two-game lead on the second-place Ramblers (11-9, 3-2).

Senior Kensey King scored a team-high 21 points for Caledonia. Klug scored 11 of her points in the second half.

The Warriors put their winning streak on the line with three nonconference games next week. Caledonia plays at Red Wing (14-4) on Monday before hosting Decorah, Iowa (8-6) on Tuesday and hosting Goodhue (14-6) on Friday.
