LA CROSSE — The Holmen High School girls basketball team picked up its second consecutive victory and won for the sixth time in seven games on Tuesday.
Seniors Macy Kline and Charley Casey combined for 23 points, and the Vikings held Logan to nine first-half points in a 43-30 MVC victory at the Steve Hole Field House.
Kline scored nine of her 13 points in the first half, and Casey made all six of her free throws and had six of her 10 points in the first half.
Sophomore Makenzie Nunemacher added 11 points for Holmen (9-4, 3-3 MVC), which evened its conference record heading into Thursday’s conference game at first-place Aquinas.
Caledonia 89, Chatfield 42
CALEDONIA — Senior Aubrie Klug scored 32 points and made five of her team’s eight 3-pointers as the Warriors (14-3) ran their winning streak to seven games.
Klug was backed up by 15 points from senior Nicole Banse and 10 from senior Kensey King.
Klug is averaging 31.9 points per game during the current winning streak and has been held to fewer than 30 just twice since it began. Tuesday’s game was her second in a row with 32.
Banse made two 3-pointers.
Onalaska 64, De Soto 25
ONALASKA — The Hilltoppers (11-4) put a loss to Central behind them by pummeling the Pirates.
Sophomore Kayla Ketelhut scored a game-high 28 points and has averaged 25.3 points per game over the past four. Ketelhut scored 17 points in the first half and finished with two 3-pointers.
Junior Lauren Pica added seven points for Onalaska, which plays at Tomah on Thursday.
Blair-Taylor 55, Melrose-Mindoro 42
MELROSE — The Mustangs (6-7, 4-7) were outscored by eight points in the first half and five in the second.
Senior Anna Radcliffe made three 3-pointers, hit 7 of 9 free throws and finished with a team-high 22 points for Melrose-Mindoro, which has won just one of its past four games.
Freshman Rahyna Mikkelson added 17 points for the Mustangs, who host Osseo-Fairchild on Friday.
