HOLMEN — The Holmen High School gymnastics team used a score of 136.55 to win an MVC meet hosted at the Bernie L. Ferry Fieldhouse on Monday.
Onalaska’s co-op followed second-place Sparta (130.0) with a third-place 129.975, and Logan/Central was fourth at 120.925.
The Vikings had junior Ava Amundson win the floor exercise with a score of 9.45 and place third all-around with a 34.6. Amundson’s win on the floor denied a sweep for Sparta’s Gabrielle Bjorkman, who was the top all-arounder (37.4) and won the balance beam (9.5), vault (9.3) and uneven bars (9.2).
Bjorkman was also second to Amundson on the floor with a 9.4.
Logan/Central senior Elena Wagner was second all-around (34.9) and placed second on the vault (8.4) individually.
Holmen’s Molly McBride and Carly Nelson were fifth (32.75) and sixth (32.725) all-around, and Logan/Central’s Lauren Domroese (30.5) was eighth.
Amundson and Holmen teammate Maija Kolpitcke were third (8.35) and fourth (8.3) on the vault, and Onalaska’s Allison Komperud (8.7) and Holmen’s Nadia Trapnell (8.6) were second and third on the uneven bars.
Trapnell (8.85) and Nelson (8.65) were third and fourth on the balance beam, and Wagner (9.3) and Nelson (9.2) were third and fourth on the floor.
