CALEDONIA — The Caledonia High School girls basketball team collected its fourth win in a row with a 74-35 Three Rivers Conference victory over Dover-Eyota on Monday.
The Warriors (11-3) allowed the Eagles to score just 12 points in the second half and used that defense to help expand their lead.
Senior Nicole Banse made five of Caledonia’s 10 3-pointers and finished tied for the team lead with 23 points. Senior Aubrie Klug also scored 23 and hit three 3-pointers along the way.
Senior Kensey King added eight points for the Warriors, who had a 31-23 halftime lead.
Eau Claire Regis 57, Aquinas 53
EAU CLAIRE — The Blugolds (12-2), who are ranked fifth in Division 3 for this week’s Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports media poll, had a 12-game winning streak snapped by the Ramblers, who are ranked fifth in Division 4.
Senior Samantha Davis had 18 points and nine rebounds for Aquinas, which hadn’t lost since its opener against Kettle Moraine Lutheran — ranked third in Division 3.
Davis made 9 of 19 shots and had three of her rebounds on the offensive end for the Blugolds, who led 21-18 after one half. Senior Alaina Elias added 14 points for Aquinas, which missed the only four free throws it attempted.
Junior Eva Willenbring made two 3-pointers on her way to eight points, and junior Ava Fernholz had eight assists. The Blugolds, who thrive on defensive pressure and turnovers, had just five steals.
Eleva-Strum 55, Melrose-Mindoro 36
MELROSE — The Mustangs (5-6, 3-6 Dairyland-Large) lost their second game in a row, this one to the team ranked first in Division 5 for the Bound Wisconsin/Zaleski Sports media poll.
The Cardinals remained unbeaten and pulled away from a 24-16 halftime lead.
Senior Anna Radcliffe scored 13 points to lead Melrose-Mindoro, which was held to one 3-pointer and also received eight points from senior Cooper Zeman.
