ONALASKA — Jackson Egan scored with assists from Liam Branson and Logan Sauter to lift the Onalaska/La Crosse boys hockey team to a 3-2 overtime victory over D.C. Everest at the OmniCenter on Saturday.
Egan, a senior from Onalaska, scored his eighth goal of the season to snap a 2-2 tie. Branson, a junior from Central, recorded his 13th assist with his second of the game.
Sauter, a senior at Central, tied the game at 1 with a goal 5 minutes, 33 seconds into the second period. Rylan Tomashek and Branson assisted on that one.
Onalaska sophomore Hudson Smith then gave the Hilltoppers (9-1) a 2-1 lead with an assist from Grayson Andel at 14:10 before the Evergreens tied the score in the third.
Parker Tripp, a junior from Central, stopped 36 shots for Onalaska/La Crosse and played all 63-plus minutes in goal to help provided its fifth consecutive victory.
Eau Claire Regis co-op 4, Avalanche 3 (OT)
ONALASKA — The Holmen/Aquinas co-op had a five-game winning streak stopped at the OmniCenter.
The Avalanche, who also have players from Onalaska Luther, G-E-T and C-FC, led 3-1 after one period before allowing two goals in the second and one in overtime.
Ayden Dirks, a senior from Holmen, scored his seventh and eighth goals at 11:13 and 14:06 of the first. They followed a tying goal by Holmen senior Jaxson Reilly at 7:37.
Jack Franzini assisted on Reilly’s goal. James Siebert and Jack Barth assisted on the first goal by Dirks and Luke Boberg and Weston Maier set up his second.
Holmen sophomore Liam Collins made 31 saves for the Avalanche (7-7).
