LAKE DELTON — The Holmen/Aquinas boys hockey co-op scored twice in the second period and twice again in the third to bring an end to a four-game losing streak on Saturday.
The Avalanche (3-6) scored the first two goals of the second period to pull away for a 5-2 victory over Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells at the Lake Delton Ice Arena.
James Siegert, a sophomore from Aquinas, scored two goals for the Avalanche, who hadn’t won since Dec. 11. Siegert’s goal were his team-high ninth and 10th of the season.
Senior Cole Van Lin and juniors Jack Franzini and Luke Boberg also scored for the co-op. Franzini gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead, and Boberg pushed the lead to 3-1 in the second.
Van Lin opened the third with a goal off an assist from senior Sawyer Genz.
Senior Jack Barth assisted on two goals, and senior Ayden Dirks and Franzini assisted on one each for the Avalanche.
Junior Dane Adams made 27 saves while playing the entire game in goal.
Fox Cities 11, West Salem/Bangor 1
MADISON — Senior Cohen Knutson scored the third goal of the second period after Fox Cities had taken a 7-0 lead with the help of a five-goal first at Hartmeyer Ice Arena.
Knutson scored his third goal of the season for the Panthers (0-6) with the help of senior Terryn Boland’s fourth assist of the season.
