LA CROSSE — The Logan High School girls basketball team outscored G-E-T by 10 points in the second half to beat the Red Hawks 43-35 for its first victory of the season on Friday.
The Rangers (1-3) scored 27 second-half points to get the victory at the Steve Hole Field House.
Senior Lydia Mason scored eight second-half points and finish with a team-high 14 points for Logan, which scored more points than it did in its previous three. Junior Emma Bacon scored all 10 of her points after halftime, hitting a pair of 3-pointers and four free throws.
Junior Lilly Dettwiler also made two 3-pointers in the second half and finished with nine points for the Rangers.

Central 63, DeForest 53
DEFOREST — Senior and Eastern Illinois commit Alahnna Simpson had 24 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists as the RiverHawks (3-0) remained unbeaten and pulled away from a one-point game in the final three minutes.
Freshman Ellie Apuan added 14 points for Central, which is ranked ninth in Division 2 by the Bound/Zaleski Sports media poll. The RiverHawks play at Division 1 Eau Claire Memorial, which is ranked 10th by the media, in a nonconference game on Tuesday.
Independence/Gilmanton 59, Melrose-Mindoro 46
INDEPENDENCE — The Mustangs (2-2 overall, 2-0 Dairyland) couldn’t recover from scoring just 16 points in the first half.
Senior Anna Radcliffe made two 3-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points for Melrose-Mindoro, which did come back to score 30 points in the second half.
Seniors Calysta Bautch, Cooper Zeman and Miranda Banse all added nine points for the Mustangs. Zeman made two second-half 3-pointers.
