LA CROSSE — The La Crosse Loggers have promoted third-base and hitting coach Dominic Sciturro to field manager for the 2026 season.
Sciturro steps in after the departure of Josh Frye in that position the past three season. Frye took a new coaching job with Biola University (Calif.).
Sciturro’s offense enjoyed tremendous success in 2025 as they pieced together a 38-33 overall record and won the first-half championship in the Northwoods League’s Great Plains East Division with a 22-11 mark to qualify for the postseason.
The Loggers used a .276 batting average — the second-highest in team history — to set team records in runs scored with 491 and also broke the team record with 225 stolen bases. La Crosse also had 661 hits, which are the second-most in team history.
Sciturro is in his first year as director of baseball operations and player development at Division I Illinois-Chicago after coaching at Wayne State (Mich.) the previous three seasons.
“Dom brings a level of preparation, passion and analytical knowledge that is second to none,” Loggers team president Chris Goodell said in a release about the hiring. “In addition to being elite at player development, he also fell in love with La Crosse and what being a Logger means to our community, making him the perfect fit to lead us into 2026.”
The Loggers will begin their 2026 season on Monday, May 25.
