REEDSBURG — The Logan High School softball team recovered from a tough offensive outing with a huge one to split two games at the Reedsburg Invitational on Saturday.
The Rangers (5-14) started their day with just two hits in a 7-1 loss to Reedsburg before coming back in a big way for a 22-17 victory over Sauk Prairie.
Pitcher Sophie Schmitz and second baseman Norah Keller both doubled for Logan against the Beavers, but no one else could connect. Shortstop Emma Bacon drove in Schmitz in the top of the fourth inning.
Both Logan and Sauk Prairie scored five runs in the seventh inning to force an eighth before the Rangers scored six times in the top of the eighth.
Both Keller and Bacon had four hits, and Bacon scored five times and drove in four runs with three doubles.
Schmitz, who also scored five runs, was 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs after walking three times, and Kaia DePaolo homered and drove in three runs for the Rangers.
Eight of Sauk Prairie’s runs were unearned.

REEDSBURG — The RiverHawks (6-12) scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat the Eagles, and right fielder Maleah Tomesh scored the winning run when a one-out hit off the bat of Elena Wagner turned into an error.
Tomesh and pitcher Jaymeson Buxton drove in a run apiece for Central in the win over Sauk Prairie. Buxton pitched 4-plus innings and allowed one earned run on five hits and a walk while striking out two.
The RiverHawks gave up five runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth against the Beavers.
Second baseman Mady Young drove in Wagner with Central’s run in the top of the fifth. Wagner doubled, and Ellie Gillitzer tripled for the RiverHawks.
