RICHLAND CENTER — The Logan High School baseball team scored twice in the top of the seventh inning to score a 4-2 nonconference victory over Richland Center on Tuesday.
The Rangers (7-4) used three-hit pitching from Logan Hanson to stay in the game and overcame two errors in the bottom of the seventh to win the game.
Second baseman Parker Lycke and right fielder Preston Elston each drove in a run in the top of the seventh, which began when Tommy Check reached on an error. He scored on a Lycke double to left field, and Bradley Check later scored on Elston’s infield grounder.
Lycke was 2 for 2 with a double and walked twice, and Elston finished 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.
Hanson pitched six-plus innings and struck out eight while walking one. Jackson Bosch relieved Hanson to get the final out of the game.
Caledonia 8, Rochester Lourdes 7 (9)
ROCHESTER — The Warriors (6-3) scored once in the seventh, once in the eighth and once in the ninth to win their fourth game in a row.
Caledonia scored the winning run by opening the top of the ninth with three straight singles. Tanner Ginther, Garrett Konz and Reid Klug all connected for those hits, and Klug’s brought Ginther around to score his second run. Lourdes managed a single to lead off the bottom of the ninth, but the next three batters went down in order.
Klug, Ben Stemper, Jack Schmitz and Will Allen all drove in two runs for the Warriors, who had 15 hits. Ginther and Schmitz were both 3 for 5, Klug and Mason King were 2 for 4, and Will Allen was 2 for 5.
The Warriors also drew nine walks.
Stevens Point 2, Onalaska 1
ONALASKA — The Hilltoppers (5-8) gave up single runs in the fourth and fifth innings and received four-hit pitching from Ian Kowal, Jagger Banasik and Carson Campbell.
Kowal drove in Bradyn DeLong for a run in the bottom of the third before Stevens Point answered and went ahead. DeLong, who played left field, went 2 for 3 and catcher Hunter Morse doubled for Onalaska.
Kowal struck out four without walking a batter over three hitless innings.
Arcadia 4, Viroqua 3
ARCADIA — The Raiders (6-6, 3-4) scored three runs in the bottom of the first and added what became the winning run in the second to snap a two-game losing streak.
Second baseman Deklyn Grzadzielewski and right fielder Caleb Pronschinske ach drove in a run for Arcadia, which made the most of four hits.
Grzadzielewski brought home Ben Lightfoot on an infield grounder for the go-ahead run in the second. Lightfoot’s only hit was a double.
Login Scow pitched all seven innings for the Raiders. He struck out eight, walked one and didn’t allow an earned run on five hits.
Melrose-Mindoro 20, Alma/Pepin 2 (5)
PEPIN — The first-place Mustangs (10-3, 7-1) ran their winning streak to five games with an easy win that required just 10 hits.
Third baseman Eric Herzberg was 4 for 4 with a double, a home run and five RBIs to lead the way. Center fielder Brett Peterson also drove in three run, and Brewer Schlifer, Jayce Stetzer, Isaiah Kleinsmith and Wade Adams drove in two each.
Herzberg also scored five times.
Jacob Thesing pitched 4 2/3 innings and struck out six while allowing three hits and two walks.
The Mustangs had a 4-0 lead after one inning and were up 6-0 after two. They scored nine times in the fourth inning.
Prairie du Chien 3, Onalaska Luther 0
ONALASKA — The Knights allowed one run in the fifth and two in the sixth in their fourth straight loss.
Right fielder Gabe Shepard went 2 for 3 in a game that included just three Luther hits. Ashton Kendall doubled, and Cal Lyga stole a base for the Knights (2-7-1).
Jackson Kendall pitched four scoreless innings and struck out eight for Luther. He allowed two hits and didn’t walk a batter.
Westby 8, West Salem 0
WETBY — The Norsemen opened with five runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back.
The Panthers (4-7, 3-4) had four hits, and designated hitter Luke Baginski hit a double for one of them.
