CALEDONIA — The Caledonia High School softball team used a big late inning in one game and a big early inning in the next to record a Three Rivers Conference sweep of Winona Cotter on Thursday.
The Warriors ran their winning streak to four games with a 4-1, 5-2 sweep of the Ramblers and improved their record to 9-1.
Caledonia won the first game by scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Pitcher Avery Augedahl led off the sixth with a home run to center field, and left fielder Brairy Proulx followed a walk to Vivian Kittleson with a two-run homer to center for her second hit of the game. Augedahl also doubled during a 2-for-3 performance.
The Warriors started the second game with a four-run first inning that included a three-run home run by Proulx. Augedahl doubled and scored the first run on an Elsa Blum double, and Proulx followed a walk to Kittleson with a blast to left field. Proulx added an RBI single in the third.
Augedahl pitched both games and finished with a combined 24 strikeouts.
Holmen 7, Aquinas 5
LA CROSSE — The Vikings (4-6, 4-2) snapped a tied game with a three-run top of the fifth inning in what became a win at Pammel Creek.
Junior shortstop Macy Kline was 3 for 4 with a double and a stolen base, and center fielder McKenna McHugh was 2 for 4 with two runs driven in for Holmen, which had 10 hits. McHugh hit a two-run single in the fifth, which also included an RBI single by Gabi Stuhr.
Left fielder Kaylee Moser was also 2 for 3 for the Vikings.
Shortstop Ava Fernholz and pitcher Abby Ziolkowski both drove in two runs for the Blugolds (4-7, 2-4). Ziolkowski also had two hits, and Kathryn Savoldelli stole three bases.
Arcadia 10, Black River Falls 0 (6)
ARCADIA — The Raiders scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and finished it with a run in the sixth.
Arcadia had six hits and took advantage of four Black River Falls errors.
Shortstop Layna Wozney was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and catcher Tatum Drazkowski 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Kaitlyn Bremer allowed five hits and struck out four during the shutout.
Logan 7, Sparta 1
SPARTA — The Rangers (2-9, 1-5) scored all of their runs in the first four innings to pick up their first conference victory.
Catcher Maria Weber was 3 for 4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored, while pitcher Kaia DePaolo went 2 for 4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored.
First baseman Norah Keller also drove in two runs, and second baseman Norah Reineking walked twice and stole two bases for Logan, which had eight hits.
Tomah 11, Central 3
TOMAH — The RiverHawks (4-8, 2-4) couldn’t come back from allowing the uneaten Timberwolves seven runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Left fielder Norah Holkup singled and drove in two runs during her only at-bat, and teammate Addy Roesler doubled.
