LA CROSSE — Sophomore shortstop Ellie Gillitzer was 2 for 3 with a home run, three runs driven in and two stolen bases as the Central High School softball team won its third straight game under first-year coach Nathaniel Turner.
Gillitzer slugged a three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning to give the RiverHawks (3-1) a 5-0 lead in their MVC opener against the visiting Rangers (0-4, 0-2).
Senior Carmen Peterson kept Logan scoreless through four innings and finished with 14 strikeouts while pitching a two-hit complete game. She walked one batter and allowed no earned runs. Sophomore second baseman Mady Young also had two hits for Central.
Pitcher Sophie Schmitz and right fielder Mariana Rojo singled for Logan.
Caledonia 15, Rushford-Peterson 0 (4)
CALEDONIA — The Warriors scored five in the second inning and seven in the third on the way to a run-rule victory over the visiting Trojans.
Caledonia recorded 19 hits, and Avery Augedahl pitched a complete-game perfect game and struck out every batter she faced. Augedahl also hit a home run during a 3-for-3 performance that included a walk, three runs scored and four driven in.
Catcher Adrienne Lange was 3 for 4 with a triple and two runs batted in, and center fielder Nora Staggemeyer 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and one RBI from the No. 9 spot in the batting order.
Second baseman Vivian Kittleson also drove in two runs for the Warriors, who received at least one hit from every spot in the lineup.
Tomah 2, Holmen 0
TOMAH — The Timberwolves (5-0, 2-0) scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings, and Anna Wall struck out 12 and held the Vikings to two hits.
Third baseman Avary Chapman and shortstop Libby Mathison each drove in a run for Tomah.
Shortstop Macy Kline singled and stole a base and first baseman Taylor Everson doubled for Holmen (1-1, 1-1).
Onalaska 10, Sparta 0 (5)
SPRTA — The Hilltoppers (3-1, 2-0) had 12 hits and scored in all but one inning to shut out the Spartans.
Catcher Lauren Pica hit a home run and had three RBIs for Onalaska, which scored three runs in the top of the first inning and three more in the top of the second.
Right field MJ Heit was 3 for 4 with a double and drove in two runs and shortstop Qita Olson added two RBIs for the Hilltoppers. First baseman Zoey Lichty and second baseman Kylie Gilhausen both had two hits and scored twice.
Fall Creek 13, Arcadia 4
ARCADIA — The Raiders (3-3) had a three-game winning streak snapped, and the Crickets had a pair of five-run innings.
Left fielder Sacia Boland singled and drove in two runs for Arcadia, which was within 3-1 after scoring once in the bottom of the second before a five-run fifth gave Fall Creek some space.
Second baseman Kiley Fitzpatrick drew two walks and stole a base for the Raiders, who had four hits.
