ONALASKA — The Onalaska Luther High School boys basketball team won a Coulee Conference battle over tempo on Friday.
The second-place Knights completed a regular-season sweep of visiting Arcadia with a 47-43 victory as they tried to push the pace and the Raiders tried to slow it down.
Senior Will Huelskamp scored 17 points, grabbed six rebounds and recorded three steals for Luther (14-4, 7-2), which won its seventh game in a row. Senior point guard Jackson Kendall added 14 points, hit all four of his free throws and matched Huelskamp’s three steals.
The Raiders (10-9, 4-5) received 12 points apiece from senior Kaiden Rotering and freshman Deklyn Grzadzielewski. Grzadzielewski made 4 of 5 shots and hits 3 of 4 attempts from the 3-point line, while Rotering pulled down five rebounds.
West Salem 94, Black River Falls 50
WEST SALEM — The first-place Panthers (13-5, 8-0) remained unbeaten in the Coulee and beat the Tigers (4-13, 3-6) for a second time this season.
Junior Nathan Dillaber made three of West Salem’s 11 3-pointers and scored a team-high 21 points. Senior Kyle Hehli made four 3s and added 14 points, while senior Carter Pontius made all six of his free throws on the way to 14 points.
The Panthers also celebrated Senior Night by playing Luke Baginski, who has missed the entire season due to shoulder surgery. The Winona State football commit made a left-handed 3-pointer.
Holmen 81, Logan 64
HOLMEN — The second-place Vikings (14-4, 6-2) remained a half-game behind first-place Aquinas (17-2, 7-2) in the MVC by outscoring the Rangers (6-13, 1-7) by 10 points in the second half.
Senior Keenan Eisermann made 6 of 9 shots and was a perfect 7 for 7 on free throws while scoring a team-high 21 points for Holmen, which pulled away from a 38-31 halftime lead.
Senior teammate Kaiden Wilber made 11 of 15 free throws on his way to 19 points, and junior Alex Berget made 7 of 11 shots to score 16. Senior Tristan Hanson made three 3-pointers and added nine points.
Logan senior Jacob Hackbarth had 18 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Sophomore Bubba Leaver made 7 of 11 shots and scored 14 points, and freshman Tommy Check added 12 for the Rangers, who shot 54 percent for the game but turned the ball over 20 times.
Caledonia 84, Rushford-Peterson 67
CALEDONIA — The third-ranked Warriors (20-2) ran their winning streak to nine games and had four players score in double figures against the Trojans.
Senior Mason King knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead Caledonia, which expanded its eight-point halftime lead.
Senior Ethan Stendel added 19 points, senior Garrett Konz 14 with two 3s and senior Reid Klug 11 for the Warriors, who haven’t lost since a 76-71 setback to visiting Stewartville on Jan. 11.
Caledonia, which made 17 of 21 free throws, plays at La Crescent-Hokah on Tuesday.
Onalaska 63, Tomah 46
ONALASKA — The fourth-place Hilltoppers (14-6, 6-4) got back on the winning path after two straight losses.
Senior Broden Steiner scored a game-high 16 points. Seniors Noah Chenault and Jack Smith added 13 and 11, respectively, in the final Onalaska plays until it hosts West Salem on Tuesday.
