WEST SALEM — The Caledonia High School boys basketball team scored on three key possessions down the stretch to score a big 77-67 victory over West Salem in a big nonconference matchup on Saturday.
The Warriors (7-1) ran their winning streak to five games and handed the Panthers (5-2) their second loss in a row.
Senior Garrett Konz scored a game-high 27 points to spoil the return of West Salem’s Kyle Hehli from injury. Konz made 14 of 18 free throws and had 22 of his points after halftime.
Senior teammate Reid Klug added 22 points and made 9 of 13 free throws. Caledonia made 25 of 43 attempts from the foul line.
West Salem was led by Hehli’s 26 points. He made two 3-pointers and was backed up by 10 points from teammate Carter Pontius. Nathan Dillaber added eight.
Ethan Stendel added 10 and Mason King nine for Caledonia.
Aquinas Tournament

Aquinas 72, Cambridge 71
The Blugolds (8-0) escaped with their unbeaten season after being pushed by the Bluejays (6-2) at the Reinhart Athletic Complex.
Junior Logan Becker made five 3-pointers and scored 21 points for Aquinas, which had to come back from a 41-36 halftime deficit. The Blugolds made seven second-half 3s to complete their comeback.
Sophomore Calvin Bahr added 14 points. Seniors Brayden Young and Vincent Bahr scored 12 and 11, respectively, as the Blugolds played their final tune-up before opening the MVC season at Central on Friday.
Third Place
G-E-T 63, Maple Northwestern 57 (OT)
The Red Hawks (4-5) scored 10 of the 14 overtime points to finish third and end a two-game losing streak.
G-E-T trailed 30-28 at halftime, and the game went to overtime tied at 53.
Junior Mason Brone led the Red Hawks with 20 points, while Jackson Burns added 14 and Brecken Ebersold 12 for a team that plays at Elk Mound (6-1) and at West Salem (5-2) in its next two games.

Onalaska 72, Waunakee 69
WAUNAKEE — The Hilltoppers (6-2) took out the Warriors in a back-and-forth game that included a winning shot by senior Jack Smith with 16.7 seconds remaining.
Senior Broden Steiner scored a team-high 18 points for Onalaska, which also received 11 from junior Ian Kowal. The Hilltoppers host Onalaska Luther (6-0) on Thursday.

Rice Lake 69, Tomah 64 (OT)
RICE LAKE — Sophomore Quinn Gerke followed up a 30-point performance in the semifinals with 32 as the Timberwolves (3-3) pushed the Warriors (7-0) to overtime.
Gerke made four 3-pointers and 12 of 13 free throws. He scored 17 of his points in the first half, but Tomah had to battle back from a 34-25 halftime deficit.
Tomah did that and had a 60-55 lead with 1 minute left before Rice Lake scored the next five to force overtime. Junior Brennen Worden scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half to aid the comeback.

DeForest 86, Bangor 43
WISCONSIN DELLS — The Cardinals (2-6) were led by juniors Brody Edwards and Hayden Massman, who combined for 27 points. Edwards scored 15 and Massman 12.
Darlington 81, Westby 56
DARLINGTON — Senior Devin Nedland scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed four rebounds and four steals for the Norsemen (2-5), who trailed 45-29 at halftime.
Sophomores Maddox Fencl and Griffin Nelson added 11 and nine points, respectively.
