PRAIRIE DU CHIEN — The West Salem co-op gymnastics team emerged victorious in the Prairie du Chien/Fennimore Invitational on Saturday.
The Panthers posted a team score of 137.775 to hold off second-place Dodgeville (134.075) in the seven-team meet. Onalaska/Luther finished fifth (129.85) and PdC/Fennimore sixth (107.975).
Senior Kennedy Garbers led West Salem by winning the all-around with a 35.2 and tying for the top individual score on the floor exercise (9.3). She also tied for third place on the balance beam (9.225) and bars (8.375).
Teammate Camdyn Lyga was second all-around (34.85) and tied for the top score on the balance beam (9.25). Lyga was also fourth on the vault (8.5) and fifth on the floor exercise (9.1).
Onalaska/Luther’s Eva Dryer was third all-around (34.75) with her top individual event being a fourth-place tie on the balance beam (8.9).
West Salem’s Olivia Maki added a third-place finish on the floor (9.15), and she tied Dryer for fourth on the beam.
Tomah Invitational
TOMAH — The G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro/C-FC co-op won the seven-team competition with a 134.55, while Sparta was fourth (128.825) and Tomah fifth (120.875).
Sparta’s Gabrielle Bjorkman won the all-around (37.075). She won the vault (9.45), tied for the win on the floor exercise (9.4) and won the bars (9.125) and balance beam (9.1).
GMC’s Taylor Gallup was second all-around (36.325). She tied Bjorkman on the floor (9.4), was second in the vault (9.225) and balance beam (9.0) and was third on the bars (8.7). Isabell Korn led the Westby co-op with a third place in the all-around (34.8) and second-place performance on the bars (8.9).
GMC’s Jayden Thill was fourth all-around (34.4).
